Most patients find experience very tolerable. Thanks to our Dynamic Cooling Device™ we can help make the treatments more comfortable. Most patients say it hurts less than waxing, and a lot of the discomfort will go away as you have more treatments.

Will laser hair removal permanently stop hair growth?

The effectiveness of laser hair removal will depend on your skin type and hair color. Some patients may experience total hair loss with little or no regrowth. Some patients may continue to see some hair regrowth, though the hairs will be fewer and finer. Your consultant will discuss your expected results with you during your initial consultation.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on your skin type and hair color. On average, patients will need between four and six sessions to achieve their desired results. Some patients will need more, some less. Laser treatments have a high effective rate, but there is no guarantee that it will work for you. You should start to see improvements within several weeks with full results seen after a year. You may need multiple treatments to achieve the best results.

Does the laser treatment hurt?

No. Patients may feel a warming sensation as the laser penetrates to the nail bed, but it shouldn’t be uncomfortable. You should be able to resume normal activities straight away. Your laser technician will ensure you know how to take care of your nails at home for best results.

Your skin may appear red and tender after your treatment, a bit like having a sunburn. These symptoms last for a few days, though you may notice some redness and bruising for a few weeks this is normal. We recommend that you limit your sun exposure after treatment. Make sure you keep the treated areas thoroughly covered with sunscreen for the next several weeks.

Can I exercise after laser vein treatment?

You want to avoid strenuous activity such as running and cardio for several days. Exercising causes a rush of blood through the body. When this happens, veins can become dilated and expand. The expanding causes the veins that were collapsed during treatment to reopen which will cause the painful varicose and spider veins to reappear.

What vascular lesions respond to laser treatments?

We can treat a variety of vascular concerns in our North York office. The most commonly treated vascular concerns include broken veins, spider veins, varicose veins, and thread veins in the face. Our consultants can determine the best options for you during an initial consultation.
